What We Do Wednesdays: Helping Others

This week Jack (my 4 1/2 year old) and I have been discussing the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.  Jack felt very sad, and wanted to help.  He decided that he wanted to sell his lino cut cards to donate all the proceeds to help with disaster relief in Japan.

Jack designed and carved a new lino carving for his set of cards, and also used a truck that he had previously carved.  I helped him print the cards and now we have 5 sets (4 cards in each set) ready to be mailed (or picked up if you live near us)!  Check it out and spread the word!

This is a great opportunity to help those in Japan, and also help a little boy understand just how much of a difference one little boy can make!  Great life lesson I say.

Bunnies with Hearts

I've finally decided to open up my etsy shop, The Hook & Eye again and have a few things listed!

My current favorite are some blank notecards with block print images of cute bunnies with little red hearts ..... oh so perfect for Valentine's Day!!

Where has this week gone? We did go on a little trip to Vancouver for a couple of days, but this weekend has just crept up on us! It is certainly a busy one so far! Pancake breakfasts, parades, visiting with friends, and there is still the racing at Western Speedway, a birthday party, rides and cotton candy at the fair, and an air show! Wow I am exhausted just thinking about it!

I am also making plans for Jack's Robot birthday party! Cory is busy working on Jack's present (the dollhouse) as I type. He's pretty excited to start it! I am also finishing up the contest for my Etsy shop on Facebook tomorrow, and starting a new one next weekend. The next contest is going to be hosted here on the blog! Anyways have to get back to the weekend! See you Monday!

Today my computer did something good for once! It let me upload some photos from my camera! My new computer is going to arrive some time next week hopefully, but for now I have a few things to share!

This is one of my granny squares. I have done some with a smaller hook and am using them as trivets or pot holders! My blanket is coming along with 17 squares finished.
