Oh yes that's right, we have a tent. Not just any tent .... a 1972 Woods Canvas Cabin Tent! We are planning a small (one night) camping trip next week for our mini vacation and our current tent was too small. We really didn't want to buy a new tent as we are trying to reduce the amount of resources we are consuming. This tent cost about the same a new one at the store, but it's way more durable, environmentally friendly, and I'd say a lot better looking than most poly/nylon tents out there!
It's 12 feet by 12 feet and 7 feet tall at the peak. We fit everyone's bed inside and there is still room to walk around! It's heavy and huge, but it sets up rather quickly. Look forward to more tent/camping photos soon!
Of course the outstanding question is.... is it waterproof?
ReplyDeleteit is somewhat waterproof, cory got a giant tarp to string up incase of bad weather ....... also we can treat it with this spray stuff once a year to make in more waterproof.
ReplyDeleteI think it is really cool that you have a vintage tent. It does indeed reduce our carbon footprint if we don't run to Target everytime we need a tent or something but rather, find something that can be re-used/recycled/thrifted, etc.
ReplyDeletethanks! we try to buy anything that we need vintage ....... but my husband is getting a bit sick of running around town to get the "deals"! haha!
